Earn your International Day of Geocaching souvenir AND celebrate summer with boats, burgers, hot dogs, and ice cream. This event has all this and more. It's even got a bit of mystery and intrigue. You heard right. Mystery and intrigue. In addition to paying homage to summertime, we will be honoring Floyd, a long missing secret agent who has been working undercover for the FBI. Floyd, who recently returned to the area and loves caching, will be joining us to publicly reveal for the first time the details of his recent two and a half year clandestine mission.
The event is at the DnRseekers’ lakeside cabin in North Webster. The grill will be fired up and complimentary burgers and hot dogs are the first order of business. Bring along your favorite summertime snack or drinks to complement the summertime bash . You’d better save some room for ice cream though! No celebration can be considered a summertime celebration unless ice cream is involved.
After lunch jump on board for a houseboat ride (or rides) on Lake Webster to chill out. We aren't bad tour guides... There is a canoe there too that you can take out for a paddle around. Who knows what you might find? Tupperware?
So do you have something cool of your own to celebrate? Rumor has it that an esteemed local cacher shares his birthday with the International Day of Caching. Cheers to ggateam’s George! All other celebrations are up for cheers too! Come join the fun, meet other cachers, and maybe share a tale about your latest caching adventure. It all starts at noon Saturday August 18th at Mingo Manor Lakeside Resort. (yea we are pushing it a little here with the “Resort” tag but we think you’ll have a good time). The event will be wrapping up around 3pm.
