Historic Caches of Michigan Counties

In May, 2010, the late cacher, brummelbear, hid the first of a series of challenge caches in Michigan for finding the oldest active caches in each county.  To date, 74 of the 83 counties have a Historical Caches of Michigan Counties Challenge Cache.

The rules of the challenges are, you can find the cache and write your name in the log any time but in order to qualify for a find, you must have already found five of the seven listed (or previously listed) oldest caches in that county.  If you don't yet qualify, your log must be a "write note".  Your log should include the list of five or more caches you have found and the dates you found them so the challenge cache owner can verify that you qualify.  Newer Michigan County Historical Challenge caches will have a project-gc checker that you can use to verify your results.

An active and always up to date list of the available Michigan County Historical Challenges can be found here:

A leaderboard generated by project-gc.com can be seen here.  Keep in mind stats for non-paying members are only updated once every eight days or so.

Do you think you would like to be the CO for a Historic Caches challenge cache in your county?  To qualify, you must qualify to find such a cache.  In other words, you must have already found five of the seven oldest caches in that county and be willing to keep the list of available seven caches up to date.

The following counties do not yet have Historic Caches in this series:
Alger, Baraga, Dickinson, Houghton, Iron, Keweenaw, Luce, Marquette, Schoolcraft.
