Presque Isle Park on beautiful Lake Superior is the location for this caching event. Join us on Saturday, August 15, 2020 from 1-4 pm for some good conversation and snacks.
The format will be different this year due to COVID-19. There will be no pot luck so we don't crowd around the food and the tables. We will provide commercially prepared snacks, disposable plates/bowls, and any necessary plastic utensils. Please bring your own drinks. We want to minimize handling of common items although some will be unavoidable. Masks are required and must completely cover your nose and mouth. This requirement will be strictly enforced as will social distancing. Please, no shaking hands or hugging (no matter how much we may want to.) We can still share our experiences but from six feet away. We want to ensure this is a fun and SAFE event. We want to see EVERYONE back next year and hope we'll be able to return to our normal format.
The coordinates will take you to a shelter at Presque Isle Park near Moosewood Nature Center. The shelter has electricity.
Please bring some lawn chairs to ensure we can spread out enough, picnic games, etc. We will not have a group picture. We will try to take pictures and post a collage.
Bring some bugs (no ticks please!) and travelers and stories to swap.
Unfortunately, dogs are only allowed inside closed cars.
We will have a prize table. Door prizes will be drawn at about 3:30 pm. If you have something you'd like to add to the goodies, feel free to drop them off at the time you check in. Park in the Moosewood Nature Center parking lot (the lot closest to the coordinates) if there's enough room, otherwise near the ice cream stand. Moosewood will be open and is free.
