**Okay, so here we are just a few weeks out from the original event date (02 May 2020). It just will not happen on that date. I do not foresee us hitting the apex of "new cases" for many weeks to come. With that said; we are moving the date of this event to Saturday, 29 August 2020. I may be a bit optimistic, but hopefully this will have passed by then. We will watch and see as this continues to unfold. Melissa and I plan to keep the theme the same and celebrate the May 2nd date (just a bit delayed). The original informational text (below) will remain the same.**
On Saturday, May 2nd, 2020 we will be holding a Community Celebration Event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the "Flipping of the Big Blue Switch". On 02 May 2000, 20 years ago, Selective Availability (SA) was disabled allowing much greater accuracy by the Global Positioning System (GPS) to the civilian sector. This simple act helped pave the way to what has become known as GEOCACHING. Come join us at Hoppie’s Landing restaurant located on the second floor of the Pellston Airport Terminal. The above coordinates will bring you to the front entrance of the terminal. We will meet from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Come join us for some tasty food, good times, and qualify for a special profile page icon too.
