This is another attempt to allow local geocachers the opportunity to meet an Australian Geocacher (Krafty Charlie) who arrived in Michigan on August 12th, and returns to Australia on Sept 2nd.
In his latest email while we were double checking dates, he commented that he is bringing some personal trackables for people to discover if desired and is also bringing along some signature items. Incidentally, like MiTuCats, his team consists of two members, he's Krafty and his wife is Charlie. It sounds like only Krafty will be present, which is too bad.
The location is the gymnasium at Emanuel First Lutheran Church and School. The coordinates are in the parking lot west of the building.
For those who have attended the recent MiGO Winter Socials, it's the same facility. Restrooms and water fountains are available, it's planned that the facility will be air conditioned. If that falls through, we wll set up some fans. We have the room reserved from 7 until 8:30 pm.
For anyone making their first visit to the facility, park off Seymour Street in the parking lot, then enter the building through the double doors near the flag pole. Once inside, there is a set of double doors directly ahead across the entryway. Pass through those and proceed 14-20 feet to where a wide hallway opens to your left. Turn left into that hallway and you will see double doors entering the gym straight ahead.
While it would be helpful to know in advance roughly how many will be coming so we can set up some chairs and maybe a couple of tables for trackables, etc feel free to drop in if you're in the area but haven't logged as "will attend".
This is simply a meet and greet - there will be no food provided, but feel free to bring some finger food, water or pop if you'd like to do so. We will have some limited choices of cold beverages available. This is only our 2nd time hosting an event cache, we don't want to make it too complicated.
Unfortunately, only service dogs or service dogs in training are allowed in the facility due to some poor experiences in the past.
