A collaboration with the River Raisin Institute and River Raisin Watershed Council: Join us to help clean up the beach of Sterling State Park. Volunteers will remove trash and debris from the shorelines at Sterling State Park at the Huron Pavilion along Lake Erie. Cleaning up these areas not only makes them more aesthetically pleasing for recreational use, but makes them safer and more habitable for wetland species. The spring cleanup volunteers removed over 250 pounds of trash. Can we top it for the fall?
Admission to the park is free for volunteers for this event. Simply mention at the park entrance that you are there for the beach cleanup.
Everyone is welcome to participate, but children must be accompanied by an adult.
Gloves and bags available. Lunch (hot dogs, chips and water) will be provided after the event. Oh, and sure there will be some new caches too.
