Geocaching 101 - Discover the Fun

24 August 2019, 10:00 - 11:30

Saturday, August 24 – 10 - 11:30 am

Harbert Community Park Shelter

13411 Red Arrow Highway, just north of Harbert Road

Geocaching is the world's largest treasure hunting game, a real-world, outdoor adventure for all ages, that is happening all the time, all around the world. To play, participants use the Geocaching app and/or a GPS device to navigate to cleverly hidden containers called geocaches.

There are over 20 caches hidden at Chikaming Township Parks and Preserves alone.  In the local 5 mile area, there are over 100 caches including 3 of the Michigan State Park Centennial GeoTour.

Come join us at the Harbert Community Park shelter to find out:

  • What is geocaching?
  • How do I play this game?
  • What does a geocache look like?
  • What did you say? - Geocaching Lingo
  • Michigan State Park Centennial GeoTour

Discover at least 2 new geocaches hidden in this park.

We’ll have a SPECIAL scavenger hunt for the kids and adults as well.
