Jack Pine Planting Day CITO

04 May 2019, 08:30 - 12:00

We will meet before the Jack Pine planting starts at 9:00 am, to sign the log and take a group photo.

Join the Kirtland’s Warbler Alliance and Huron Pines for a day of jack pine planting and education to support the Kirtland’s Warbler. Volunteers will meet at the intersection of North Down River Road and Headquarters Road, east of Grayling. Please register via an online form at bit.ly/JPPD2019 by April 26 to receive driving directions and other information prior to the event.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome but note that there will be considerable bending, stooping and digging involved in the planting activities. Please dress accordingly for early May weather. Volunteers must wear sturdy boots as the site has old tree stumps, limbs and trenches. Please bring a refillable water bottle and work gloves if you have them. Coffee and snacks will be provided as well as water jugs to refill water bottles.
