Who doesn't like ice cream or geocaches? So, we are challenging you to find or hide geocaches related to ice cream.
We have come up with a list of ice cream-related words for you to find or hide in geocache titles. You can even get bonus points for holding or attending an event with "ice cream" in the title.
Complete the results form and submit it no later than July 7, 2026 (11:59 PM). Project-GC will be used to determine the winner of the challenge. NO ENTRY FORM IS REQUIRED.
The We All Scream for Ice Cream (And Caches) challenge was created by MrandMrsMan (Phyllis).A list of eligible ice cream-related words can be found here in PDF format.
Obtain your number of points from Project-GC here.
Submit this form with the results from running the Project-GC checker using your cacher name. Players are expected to understand and play by the Common Contest Rules as well as the MiGO Code of Fair Play.
Anyone can play, but only MiGO members can win. For more information on joining MiGO, click here.
A maximum of one entry is allowed for each geocaching account.
All dates and times are in Eastern Standard Time (UTC−05:00) or Eastern Daylight Time (UTC−04:00), whichever is in effect.
- Finds:
- Find caches containing any of the words from the word list in the title.
- Finds must be made between May 15, 2026, and June 30, 2026.
- Hides:
- Hide caches containing any of the words from the word list in the title.
- Hides must be published between May 15, 2026, and June 30, 2026.
- Eligible Caches:
- Any cache with a GC code is eligible.
- Each individual cache can only be used once.
- A maximum of one word will count for each cache. For example, a cache named "blue lime" would count for either "blue" or "lime," but not both.
- Words can be part of another word in the cache title, but must be continuous. To be continuous, all letters of the word must be in the same order and not separated by anything else (e.g. "malt" in "malted").
- If a word in the list is comprised of multiple words, any of the individual words will count. As an example, caches do not have to contain "tutti frutti" exactly in the title − either "tutti" or "frutti" will count. (An exception is for events with "ice cream" in the title; see the Scoring tab for additional information.)
- Points:
- Each qualifying find or hide will be awarded 1 point.
- Holding or attending an event with "ice cream" in the title will earn a bonus of 4 points, for a total of 5 points. ("Ice cream" must appear in the title exactly, or no bonus points will be awarded.)
- Lake Superior members will have their points doubled (not included in the checker; will be calculated later).
- Winners:
- One winner will be determined by the entrant with the most points.
- The remaining winners will be chosen by a random drawing of entrants. The more points you have, the greater your chances of winning.
- The number of additional winners will depend on the number of entrants:
- 1-15 entrants = 1 winner
- 16-30 entrants = 2 winners
- 31+ entrants = 3 winners
- Prizes:
- Lake Superior and Lake Huron members are playing for a collectible geocoin.
- Lake St. Clair and Trial members are playing for a membership upgrade coupon.
- Membership is measured at the end of the challenge. Anyone who upgrades their membership during the challenge period will be competing at the upgraded level.
- The challenge managers reserve the right to offer additional prizes, depending on the number of entrants.
