GeoTour Logistics Manager
  • Hider Liaison
  • Monitor GT traffic, DNF and Needs Maint logs and message traffic
  • Monitor/Maintain Hider message forum
  • Respond and help finders that message through email or GC
  • Attend calls with DNR if possible.
While most of these tasks require regular daily monitoring, the time commitment once a tour goes live is not generally overly burdensome.  We may consider co-managers as well to limit time commitment.
We have a detailed job description for those with interest.  Contact member.manager@mi-geocaching.org to inquire.

MiGO Event Page

For 2025 ONLY the event is being moved to Waterloo State Recreation area and the date is being moved to the first weekend in August with the main event on August 2, 2025 and other events and activities being planned for Wed-Friday.

Why the change?  Sleepy Hollow will have campground closures next summer to rebuild the bathroom/shower facilities.  Waterloo has adequate cellular coverage and lots of space for games and caches.   Our theme is Tropical and our tag line is Get Lei'd in Michigan.

The committee is working on some pretty cool games and activities.  The state park opens camp sites for booking 6 months out.    The organizers will be residing in the Portage Lake Campground.
Next Challenge
The committee is taking a break until after Winter Social as most of the challenge committee members do double or triple duty on other committees

Michigan County Grid Challenge
A really BIG Challenge for everyone!  This is not a contest.  Everyone can qualify for a reward, not to mention bragging rights!
The challenge is a multi-year commitment by the MiGO Challenge Committee, EC and Board.  Can you cover half of the state (Bronze), three quarters of the state (Silver) or the entire state, (Gold), finding an assortment of geocache types in 42, 63 or 83 counties.  Who will top the leaderboard out of the gate?  Who will be the first to claim a prize?  Who will be first to reach for the Gold?

MiGO's goal is to promote the sport of geocaching, an appreciation of the outdoors, and good environmental stewardship, through cooperative efforts with Michigan geocachers and land management officials.

MiGO encourages members to submit articles for our newsletter.  Submissions should be related to caching or the MiGO community and can include write ups on specific caches or events, a story about a caching experience, a tribute to another cacher, past or present, a write up about your trip to a past Mega or even caching tips.

On January 1 this year we all enjoyed ourselves at another successful HNY event.  As usual, the church put out a nice buffet breakfast for us and the event planners had several caches publish for our Geocaching enjoyment.

Pee-paw + Mee-maw won the grand prize of an electric bike, and everyone else had a chance to win one of the several other prizes in the raffle.

Andrea, aka Liskiss, was very happy with the prize she claimed from the raffle table.

HNY is an annual event held on New Years Day In Warren MI and hosted by gsix5666
