Announcement:  Club Express has recently changed the payment processor on our site from PayPal to Stripe.  How will this effect you?  While PayPal has served us well, it no longer supported as a payment option.   There is now an option to select "credit card", which can be a credit or debit transaction.  Coming soon Google Pay and Apple pay will be options.  Club Express is also working on an ACH option and is considering researching Venmo and other payment options.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Treasurer at treasurer@mi-geocaching.org.  We hope that this change will be seamless and easy for everyone.

MiGO Event Page

For 2025 ONLY the event is being moved to Waterloo State Recreation area and the date is being moved to the first weekend in August with the main event on August 2, 2025 and other events and activities being planned for Wed-Friday.

Why the change?  Sleepy Hollow will have campground closures next summer to rebuild the bathroom/shower facilities.  Waterloo has adequate cellular coverage and lots of space for games and caches.   Our theme is Tropical and out tag line is Get Lei'd in Michigan.

Get ready to seek treasure, go coconut bowling and hang out with a lot of super cool cachers.

Open Leadership Positions

MiGO is a 501c(7) organization; a designation for clubs.  The organization is run by a volunteer Executive Committee (EC) that is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors.  Members of the EC serve for 2 year terms.  Every year MiGO accepts SELF Nominations for positions on the EC.  If we get more volunteers than positions, there is an election.   Every year we also have SELF nominations for Regional Vice Presidents (RVP), who also serve for 2 years.

In 2025 there are 4 openings on the EC (actual positions determined at first meeting of new EC in March) and 2 RVP positions, SE and UP.  Current EC members can SELF nominate to remain on the EC and any Supporting Member (Lake Superior & Lake Huron) can SELF nominate to join the EC.

Self nominations will be open from December 2, 2024 thru January 5, 2025. An email will go out to membership.  If you are not a supporting member, but are interested in self nominating, please become one.
The current MiGO challenge, the MiGO Arts and Trails Challenge, will end on November 14th.  Don't forget to submit your entry.

Next Up

Michigan County Grid Challenge
A really BIG Challenge for everyone!  This is not a contest.  Everyone can qualify for a reward, not to mention bragging rights!
The challenge is a multi-year commitment by the MiGO Challenge Committee, EC and Board.  Can you cover half of the state (Bronze), three quarters of the state (Silver) or the entire state, (Gold), finding an assortment of geocache types in 42, 63 or 83 counties.  Who will top the leaderboard out of the gate?  Who will be the first to claim a prize?  Who will be first to reach for the Gold?

MiGO's goal is to promote the sport of geocaching, an appreciation of the outdoors, and good environmental stewardship, through cooperative efforts with Michigan geocachers and land management officials.

MiGO encourages members to submit articles for our newsletter.  Submissions should be related to caching or the MiGO community and can include write ups on specific caches or events, a story about a caching experience, a tribute to another cacher, past or present, a write up about your trip to a past Mega or even caching tips.  Submissions should be emailed to migo-promotions@gmail.com with a subject line of "Newsletter Submission"
