What's better than geocaching in Michigan? Geocaching out in the woods in Michigan. What's even better than geocaching out in the woods in Michigan? Geocaching out in the woods in Michigan when the trees are at full Autumn color. Come join us for a day of geocaching in the Ludington/Manistee area. Plans are in the works for over 100 new caches in the Manistee National Forest including a section of the North Country Trail along with 2 new Adventure Labs in the area. We'll be meeting up at this event after a full day for geocaching to swap stories, trackables and perhaps a bite to eat. Masks and social distancing are mandatory. There will be ongoing drawings for door prizes and you must be present to win.
Local accomodations are at hotels/motels in Ludington or Manistee. Camping is permitted anywhere within the National Forest except where specifically posted otherwise. So come on out, spend the weekend or simply day trip over. Drop into the event anytime you wish between 4 PM and 6 PM and all cachers who attend get a shared FTF on the new caches if found within 48 hours of the event.
The event is at the picnic shelter at Meade Township Hall on Freesoil Rd. just east of Freesoil. A water fountain, grills, restrooms, electical outlets, volley ball court, and a sandbox for the kids are at the shelter.
