If you have any favorite Michigan Caches, please let us know and why. We will add them here for the enjoyment of our fellow cachers. We are from Breckenridge which is almost on the border of the Southwest, Southeast and the North Lower Chapters. We have a couple of must try multies to add to your list of favorite caches. They are "In Plain Sight 1" ( GCXJ10 ) and "In Plain Sight 2" ( GCY56W ) Just read the logs on these and you will see how good they are. ~Tripe_Finders GCNMWC PB-2 Riverwalk About 8 miles SW of Big Rapids This is a VERY nicely and creatively done multi cache considered by some to be the finest cache in the state! You’ll enjoy a scenic walk along the Muskegon river and get to try your chance at 10 unique and challenging hides along the way. As a bonus if/when you complete it there are four bonus caches to help you take a short cut back to your car (or you can just walk the scenic river back and then do the caches)! ~Soggy Boots Clan The best by far is south of Big Rapids, PB-2 Riverwalk, GCNMWC. Ten stages great area, most is an easy walk, the hardest terain i remember was like stage 3 or 4, I took my 4 year old and spent a couple of hours doing it. Some stages are close enough to the river you need to watch young ones, but most are great places to let the kids venture and enjoy the woods. All of the stages are set up different, your not looking for the same ol' altoids can for 9 stages then the final loot, the stages are all very VERY creative. When i found this one I felt like I really found a trouphy. The Walk back caches are also a added bonus, very challenging. If you doubt this cache as being one of the States (if not countrys) best caches read the logs of the caches who have found it. ~RecoVanReco GCGD0H Taking a Swim at Higgins Well one up around my area that I think is a must do is "Taking a Swim at Higgins" If you can get out to it, it is one of the most fun caches to hit. Of course to get to it you need a boat of some sort and possibly be willing to dive although if its calm out you can see it from the surface. Its near the Houghton Lake and Roscommon area. The GC # is GCGD0H. ~vanman_30 GCGYXN Mosey Amongst the Maples One of the most fun and challenging caches we have visited in SW Michigan is Mosey Amongst the Maples (GCGYXN) in Shadyside Park just southwest of Grand Rapids. This cache by Mulligan58 is a very well done 6 stage multi. Each stage has been very well crafted and camo’ed, leaving us scratching our heads for quite a number of minutes. If you like great hides and head scratchers, this cache is for you! ~Mel (The Crazy Cyclist) Wade |
