MiGO has been invited to have a member on the Advisory Committee for the Pigeon River County State Forest (PRCST), Vanderbilt, MI. The PRCST is the only State Forest to use a unique “Concept of Management” plan that places an importance on quiet recreation through managed access. With the passing of the “Right to Ride” bill (saddled animal law Senate Bill No. 578), Rebecca Humphries, Director of the DNRE, is inviting groups to join an Advisory Committee for suggestions regarding access to the PRCST for horseback riding, hiking, biking, vehicles, etc. The most exciting point is, Humphries finds it imperative that MiGO be involved in the process, according a DNRE liaison. The MiGO Board of Directors has invited Capt. Bud (Don- Indian River) to represent MiGO and the sport of Geocaching on the Advisory Committee. Don has agreed to the appointment and will begin the process on April 26th at the first meeting being held at the RAM Center on the North side of Higgins Lake. Thank you Don for stepping forward to represent MiGO and the sport of Geocaching.
