MiGO has a close relationship with the Oakland County Parks system. Oakland County Parks has embraced Geocaching in their parks and have an easy to follow placement and permitting process without a fee. 

General Information

Eleven Oakland County Parks offer natural landscapes for year-round recreation with five golf courses, two waterparks and nature centers. Unique recreation opportunities include The Fridge toboggan run and Mobile Recreation.

Geocache Placement & Seeking Guidelines and Application for Geocaching Permit 

  • Seeking of caches is open to visitors of all Oakland County Parks.
  • Geocaching in Oakland County Parks is allowed with a free permit.
  • The process for obtaining a permit and maps detailing the areas where Geocaches are allowed to be placed in Oakland County Parks is available at the following link: Oakland County Parks Geocaching Page
  • You must be a member of Michigan Geocaching Organization to place a Geocache within the Oakland County Parks system.
  • You must show proof of permit to the volunteer reviewer prior to your cache being approved for listing on Geocaching.com
